Earth Hour 2011

Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries/territories participating. Global landmarks such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, CN Tower in Toronto, Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.

In March 2009, hundreds of millions of people took part in the third Earth Hour. Over 4000 cities in 88 countries/territories officially switched off to pledge their support for the planet, making Earth Hour 2009 the world’s largest global climate change initiative.

On Saturday 27 March, Earth Hour 2010 became the biggest Earth Hour ever. A record 128 countries and territories joined the global display of climate action. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas switched off. People across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet.

Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday 26 March at 8.30PM (local time). Give your support and do a little contribution. The little contribution will become the bigger effort if one of you out there realize bout this:

Ways to Save our Environment

No drastic changes to your lifestyle, no need to give up on anything big...All you need to do is some simple way to save environment. When all of us start making these changes, the cumulative efforts will result in a beautiful environment that we can gift to our offsprings.
  • Electronic appliances utilize a lot of electricity on standby mode. So turning off the lights, fans, and other electronic items when you leave a room.
  • By hang up your clothes on a clothesline and avoid using a dryer, you not only save power and reduce your contribution to global warming, you will also have clothes that last longer.
  • Using CFL lights instead of fluorescent bulbs, not only reduce power consumption and help the environment, they will also help you cut down your electricity bills.
  • No plastic bags, and take to recycling newspaper to make paper bags for your use. You know it is easily recyclable.
  • by unsubscribe to bank statements delivered by e-mail, view your bills online buy and use only e-tickets, you can contribute to the conservation of natural resources.
  • Wash your car in your lawn so water your plants as well as have a clean car.Otherwise, go to a professional car wash service. They use water more efficiently than you.
  • Planting a tree for nature. If all of us plant one tree it will make a whole world of a difference, and a difference to the whole world by protecting our environment.
  • Whenever possible, try and walk instead of taking your car. Or, take your bike for a spin. You're doing your health some good, saving gas, and helping the environment.
  • By maintaining your car so that it functions the way it is supposed to, without utilizing too much energy to function. Amount of environmental pollution cause by ur car will also reduce.
  • Bath from a bucket instead of using the shower to enable water conservation. You don't realize the amount of water that is running when you simply leave the shower on.

Big Mommas:Like Father ,Like Son

Martin Lawrence reprises the role of RBU agent Malcolm Turner – aka, undercover grandma Big Momma – in this installment in the Big Momma’s House franchise, Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son. Malcolm’s latest assignment teams him up with his teenage stepson Trent, who unwittingly makes himself a target after he bears witness to a murder. In order to keep Trent out of harm’s way and solve the case behind the killing that Trent saw, the two have no choice but to go undercover at an all girl’s performing arts school, with Malcolm posing as the titular rotund old lady Big Momma, and Trent dressing up as a heavy, female student named Charmaine.

"the dam is so damn one!!"
spontaneous-made by one of my classmate...

last weekend went for my master site visit, water management system. it was my 1st time to visit the dam, legally- escort by members of M'sia Civil Defence (JPA). For ur info, the dam is strictly protected area and observed by JPA. Mada dam and Pedu dam are the main water supply in domestics usage and agriculture. Any problem occur will effect the economy and dignity of M'sia. That's why both are known as black area.
Any pictures taken there are not allow to publish.

The visit was not complete if there was no pit stop at other places. So, the additional places were Grape valley, Beris Lake and Sime Darby Plantation in Semanggul ...

Overnite in Alor Setar at Ning Homestay...RM 55/nite including air-cond, TV, w
ater heater and two single bed. Comfort and clean. I'm sharing the room with my classmate.
The living cost in Alor Setar is low. I was surprised!! Just imagine, the price for nasi ayam and teh 'o' just RM 4.30. Mee goreng with 'tauhu' only RM 2.what the.....!!
